Hello! My name is Sreeja and I am a current high school student.
I have always had a passion for medicine as I loved the concept of how the human body functions and builds together. My interest for the field deepened when my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer. It was a challenging period to see him struggle with this disease, and it left me determined to enter this field so I could help those who went through similar experiences. As I accompanied him to doctor appointments, I found myself constantly interested in human anatomy and the way it all operated. How a small change could potentially be the difference between life and death and how the human body is so much more than what we see.
From this point, I was set on becoming a healthcare professional, where I could learn more about the human body while simultaneously, being able to help those in need. However, as I began looking more into the details of medical diagnosis and practice, I found a lot of misunderstandings and confusion from the people around me.
I decided that this was an problem that needed to be solved, and through this, Diagnosis Decoded was born, a weekly podcast that explains misconceptions, symptoms, treatment, and welcomes experienced healthcare professionals to discuss certain challenges. In the end, my goal is to form a community that helps to enlighten and educate everyone. As they say, knowledge is power, and in a field like medicine, this statement is welcomed on a whole new level.
